TPMH GOLF CLUB RETAIN THE INTERCLUB TROPHY.

This competition is played throughout the season over five rounds, one at each of the military clubs. TPMH GC were the defending champions and were determined to retain it. This would not be easy as Episkopi were 16 points in front at the start of this match. TPMH GC not only  pulled back the deficit but finished 34 points ahead, this ensured that the Interclub Trophy once again remained in TPMH GC’s trophy cabinet. This is all the more fantastic as we are the second smallest club on the island. Our Club Captain Steve Pope and his team relished the day. He thanked all the visitors for making this competition so interesting until this final match and thanked all the players who represented TPMH GC throughout the season. Alan Young was the highest overall scorer throughout the season with a great 155 points closely followed by Ian Wilcox with 152 and Steve Pope with 151.

Top scores on the day were Paul Hurst and Jimmy Muirhead with 36 points for TPMH GC and Scott Dunn from Dhekelia with his 35.

The final table for the Interclub Trophy for 2009/10 reads:

TPMH GC          1542 Points

Episkopi             1508 Points

Ay Nic                 1493 Points

Dhekelia             1472 Points

IGC Nicosia        1326 Points.

THE GLENFIDDICH LADIES OPEN.

The rain God’s where very good to us during this competition, while the rain poured down all around Akrotiri TPMH GC unbelievably stayed dry, as you can imagine all the players were most grateful. We welcomed visitors from all over the Island and saw many old friends. Thank you all for making the trip. For Elizabeth Davies it was a very worthwhile journey, as she came home with a super 36 Stableford points to take home the first prize. Close behind was our own Gabby Jones with her 32 points followed by Catherine Hinds with 31 points with Jenny Taylor in fourth spot with 30 points. As all players had to contend with the Akrotiri wind the scores do the competitors great credit. The longest drive was won by Sheila Bogan. It is hoped the all the winners enjoy the hospitality from our sponsors. So a big cheers to them and a thank you.
